Recently, I'm on the way to apply for some schools in US, and I can see it prove to be more difficult than I expected. You've to pass many many gate before you can enter a college. Well, so why do I choose a large, well-known college? Why don't I simply choose a public institution, which is much more easier to enter than top school? My family ask me like that, and I think you may wonder to ask me like that. Let me tell you something. In US, there's about 4000 instituitions for you to choose, so you can't just choose a school which is seem easy to enter. That's exactly what I think when I begin my search, but I quickly know that it's more difficult than I, along with you or someone else, expected. While there are many excellent colleges for you, there are also lots of ghost school, or should I say, fake school. Beside, if you just choose that school because you seem like it, you'll regret it. That because admission process in US is harder than you all imagine. Any one who recently live and work in US will know what I said. If you decide to apply for an excellent college, for instance, like Princeton, you've to show that you have not only an excellent background but also a wide, strong ability in extracurricular, especially in community activities. You know why? Because they don't want to admitted an idiot, who keeps his books 24h/day, day by day, night by night. Instead, they want a student who can follow their education program as well as offer something interesting for campus life. Beside, if you choose an easy college, a public instituition, perhaps, to apply, you'll be prepared to pay all your cost. Are you sure you can manage to pay about 20 000 or 30 000 $US a year? Futhermore, you must know that there are many institutions in US which aren't good as you thought. Some college locate in small town, while other may be in very large city ---> which one should you choose? So don't think that choosing and apply for a college in US is easy, my friend. But, like I always say: there's no magic here, hard work is the key.
